Privacy Policy

At Bluret (bluret.com), your privacy is not just a feature—it is the entire reason our product exists. We are committed to complete transparency regarding our zero-data collection architecture.

Privacy Summary (The TL;DR)

01. Our Core Principle: Complete Local Execution

Bluret is designed from the ground up as a purely local browser utility. When you run Auto-Detect, draw an Area Box, or apply a Gaussian blur to a confidential field, all calculations and CSS manipulations are performed by your computer's local browser engine. No screen recordings, DOM trees, webpage HTML, or user inputs ever leave your machine.

02. Information We Do NOT Collect

Unlike cloud-based services, Bluret explicitly does not collect, log, or monitor:

  • The contents of your screen or browser tabs.
  • Text, passwords, credit card numbers, or API keys you redact or type.
  • Your browsing history, visited URLs, or session bookmarks.
  • IP addresses, device fingerprints, or location telemetry.
  • Exported screenshots or PDF files generated through the tool.

03. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

Bluret utilizes your browser’s local sandbox storage (chrome.storage.local) exclusively to preserve your personal preferences across browser sessions. This includes:

  • UI Preferences: Your selected shader style (Blur, Clean Camouflage, Blackout, or Dots) and blur radius slider value.
  • Custom Keyword Profiles: The specific words or phrases you manually define for redaction.
  • License Key & Status: Your software license key and trial expiration date to verify your Pro status.
  • Page Redaction Records: Saved redaction coordinates for active pages, which are automatically purged when all masks on a page are cleared.

This data remains confined to your local browser profile and is never transmitted to our servers or any third parties.

04. Browser Permissions & Why They Are Required

To function as an in-browser privacy shield, Bluret declares minimal, transparent permissions in its manifest.json:

activeTab Grants temporary access to the active webpage only when you invoke the extension (to render the toolbar dock and apply masks).
clipboardWrite Enables the 1-click "Copy to Clipboard" feature, allowing you to paste clean redacted screenshots directly into Slack, Jira, or email with zero file downloads.
downloads Used strictly when you explicitly choose to download a screenshot (PNG/JPEG) to your computer's local Downloads folder.
storage Saves your preferred blur radius, custom keywords, toolbar dock position, and license key locally on your device.
scripting Allows Bluret to inject its defensive CSS styles and DOM redaction engine onto the active webpage so elements can be blurred.

05. Payment Processing

Purchases of the Bluret Lifetime License ($29–$35) are processed externally by our Merchant of Record, Creem.io. When you purchase a license, you provide your billing information directly to Creem.io under their privacy policy. Bluret never sees, stores, or handles your credit card numbers or billing details.

06. Children's Privacy

Bluret does not knowingly collect or solicit any information from anyone under the age of 13. Our service runs exclusively client-side and does not gather user demographics or age data.
